Scott’s World of Sports

My favorite sports teams, my views, and I am always right.

About

Well since this should be about me…let’s see where do I start.

I was born in Kansas many moons ago, grew up in Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Hawaii, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and currently reside in Michigan. My first ever sporting event was a Denver Broncos game and I have no memory of it. I’ve also attended Denver Nugget games, Denver Bears (old school Expos farm team), Georgia Bulldogs games, Baltimore Orioles games, New York Yankees and Mets games, Oklahoma Sooner games, and most recently Detroit Tiger and Red Wing games.

As a kid I played pretty much every sport, I briefly played hockey in Denver, and some soccer in Maryland, basketball most everywhere, and the same with football. The first love of sports for me growing up was baseball. That was in part due to the fact that my grandfather played in what was basically the Negro Leagues equivalent of Triple A. It’s been disputed whether or not he got a ‘cup of tea’ at the top level, but those records weren’t kept all that well so it will never be known for sure. I think that’s pretty much it for now, and at another time I’ll discuss how I became a fan of all the teams that I am a fan of.

In the mid 90s I began running a Red Wings based fan site. This fan site progressed into getting picked up for a fledgling project called Allsports.com. For a few years in the late 90s I ran the Wings site there, and later stepped down to writing general NHL articles for the NHL portion of the site. Eventually personal obligations ended up preventing me from continuing on in that capacity, and the site as it existed then is no more. It wasn’t until recently with a shift in my occupation that I was able to once again have the time to post on sports in general, and in specific on the teams I follow across the spectrum.
